Eco-Printing on Textiles – New by Martha Devening

Check out what is new in the gallery!

Botanical Dyeing- is the age old process of naturally dyeing fabric with flowers, petals and leaves to create a botanical imprint imparted by the natural tannins in the plant material onto the fabric.  Or you can create a “ghost” print of the plant material by dyeing the fabric around the plant material with a dye extracted from the plant material.

It is a way to connect with nature and there is something magical about creating beautiful things from the world that we are living in.  The outcome is very unpredictable with each project being somewhat of a surprise when unbundled from the dye process.  Each item is unique and cannot be reproduced making each scarf, shawl, handkerchief or bandana one-of-a kind!

Check out my unique botanically dyed items in the gallery on your next visit.
