A real pursuit of painting did not begin until several years ago, well into my adult, empty nest life. For me, the act of painting is a personal journey of exploration of painting ideas, themes and techniques to express a scene or concept of landscapes I have visited or images imagined.
I like to experiment with texture, reduction, surface manipulation and multiple layers to innovate and add depth to work. It is the process, not the outcome, that keeps me most engaged as I explore the painting.
