Maureen and Rebecca Worth, mother-daughter team, create jewelry and pottery inspired by the setting of their home in Virginia.
The Lexington Brick collection is inspired by antique bricks found throughout Lexington, VA. Wildflower jewelry is hand sculpted from clay, fired in a pottery kiln, and embellished with pearls and semi-precious stones. Each piece is signed by the artists and no two are exactly alike.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION INSPIRES ART In the late 1800s, factories across America made bricks to create streets and sidewalks of a growing nation. The textured patterns, which provided firm footing for horses and pedestrians, became part of the landscape of many cities and small towns as they lined the streets, colleges, and squares where people lived.
The distinctive brick designs are cherished links to the past and hold special meaning in Lexington, Va. The LEXINGTON BRICK jewelry collection supports the mission of the Main Street non-profit to preserve community identity and grow economic development.
“It is not the ‘what’ but the ‘why’ that makes our pieces special.”
