“Capturing light, color, and composition are my goals as I create a painting. Subjects vary from landscapes to garden flowers to farm animals to interesting structures to still lifes and places I have visited.
Most of my work is in oil, with an occasional venture back into water-based mediums. Since I paint in the “alla prima style,” which is wet on wet, I tend to finish paintings in a timely manner, resulting in smaller sized paintings.
When weather and time permit, I enjoy painting outdoors, but the comforts of my studio provide a happy place to come and go. Visitors are welcome to visit my studio, by appointment, in downtown Lexington, tucked away on South Jefferson Street.”
