Multi-media artist Mariam Todd’s vibrant and unique expressionist style draws on folklore, myth, and life to engage the viewer’s imagination. She incorporates flower essences, marks, writing, and collage elements when laying the foundation for a painting.
She enjoys creating cyanotypes arranged with botanicals, imprinted by the sun, then washed and dried to shades of blue; bringing imprints of the native plants and animals of the Blue Ridge Mountains where she resides to you.
About her process she notes, “I love blank surfaces. When creating, I become an explorer and the surface becomes a door through which I travel, absorb the terrain, and return with an art story about my journey to share.”
Mariam accepts commissions and enjoys collaborations; she can be found online at A Pocket of Dreams.
